That this Council desires respectfully to draw
the attention of the Secretary of State for the
Colonias to the port of origin of all the mor-
-phine, and one-third of the compounds of opium,
entering this Colony; and humbly prays him to lay
before Parliament the propriety of assisting
this Government in its endeavours to discourage
ho opium vice in its most injurious form by
restricting the export from England of the means
of gratifying it:
